While surfing the Internet I came across this topic: do plants have emotions? As we all know, scientists have already shown that plants have life, so that when the life they have with emotions and feelings, if so, why is there no theory behind it, and if anything, there is no theory of why don 't we treat them as a living being? We never care about their pain during cutting. No body bothers plants for a living. The only reason for the neglect of them is because she can not speaklike us to do, they do not respond if we do anything wrong to them.

Therefore, if someone does not respond even after the damage, how can we then say that they live.

It must be something that's different for us, since it is not in the plant, and that does not make it hurt-reactive to happen to them.

After thinking about this, I came to the conclusion that, as we have body plans, they have growth as we and they have their own time as we do. The only thing that does not in the plants, is the nervous system. That is the reason, even if you live it does not respond to harm done to them.

What does it mean that plants are living beings with a brain. The answer may be yes. It is a massive discovery in the field of being alive, a man can not live from his brain to live as like a plant, or they have a few different nervous systems do.

Oils, which are derived from plants, the most common source of aromatic compounds. Plants contain fragrance primarily to attract pollinators. There is no need for a three-course gourmet organize menu - everything that goes over breakfast. Feel like keeping it low key? Why do not you bothTake a stroll to the local shops and get a takeaway coffee, a croissant and the newspapers? Take them to the park, you will find a place in the sun and while away an hour. Surprise your partner by the collection of coffee, croissants and newspapers and bring it back into bed for a leisurely start in the morning?

Breakfast in bed is always a pleasure - despite the chunks. It can be as simple or as extravagant as you want. Bacon and eggs, muesli and yogurt there are plenty of ideas for breakfastBreakfast in bed. Start a ritual a weekend breakfast in cafes and diners. Announced this time last year, the Discovery Channel, "the archaeological discovery of the century". The discovery turned out to be an advertisement for the documentary The Lost Tomb of Jesus. Filmmaker James Cameron and Jacobovici SimcaCircumvention of the peer review process and took their statements (two empty ossuaries or bone boxes, even) to the media. At the end of almost all serious scientists dismissed the discovery as mere hype, with little or no substance behind it. There was no concrete evidence that the boxes never contained the remains of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

For a change, is this year's hype surrounding the Old Testament. The paper, Biblical Entheogens: A speculative hypothesis is an updated and more detailed version of his 2002Paper Entheogens: Reflections on 'Psychoactive Sacramentials ", which consisted chiefly of about shamanism and the use of psychoactive plants in various non-Christian religions, such as the use of plants by triggering hallucinations of some Indian tribes, but also the discussion of Moses and Sinai, his experience. This paper focuses more on Judaism and the brain.

Nothing in the biblical text on the issue of the Law on Mount Sinai, include references to any kind of hallucination.Shannon is recognized. However, he says, that two plants, Peganum Harmala and Mimosa hostilis, which now can grow in the Sinai peninsula may lead hallucinations. Shannon tries to draw parallels between some details (eg fire) in the Exodus text would look like the Tibetan Book of the Dead and the use of LSD, but it seems that it will crack unwarranted conclusions.

Professor Shannon is honest enough to disclose that supports his "determination to hisConditions. It shows that he does not believe that the Sinai event (ie, when the law of Moses could receive) to be historically reliable or that it could be a myth, so that for him the only remaining alternative that they caused the result of a hallucination by a plant growing in the Sinai Peninsula.

It is true that some religions have done drugs that produce hallucinations Shannon hypothesis seems nothing to do with real science and everything with my ownPast.

Shannon admitted that he is producing 1991 Ayahuasca, a tropical plant, strong hallucinations, tried during a religious ceremony in Brazil. This seems the only real reason to believe that Moses would have experimented with something similar.

It might be good to remember that mentions the writer Aldous Huxley (1894-1963), the Shannon in his new paper, and who is remembered for his Brave New World (1932), were experimenting with mescaline and LSD. But thisnot necessarily mean that Huxley all his literary works, under the influence of drugs. The arguments for the use of the Moses of drugs is even weaker.

It is an expression, known as March Madness. In this case, it seems more to be concerned with Professor Shannon, his past and his bizarre hypothesis than with Moses. His Brave New Theory proves to be extremely bad science.

The Annotated Lolita: Revised and Updated Review

I came across the unannotated version of Lolita in summer 2004 when I was a raging philosophy maniac whose obsession was everything existentialism and thinking about The Meaning of Life - in general, I wasn't a very happy person to say the least.

Toward the end of a strenuous and almost cruel summer reading syllabus I had imposed on myself (Soren and Friedrich I could handle, but Martin and J.P. gave me the existential headache), came this brilliant gem of fiction, an oasis in the desert of angst and bad faith, a breather for my nothingness of a mind that craved being-not-in-the-world. Thanks to Vivian Darkbloom, I achieved veritable transcendence of my ego.

Onto my impressions of the novel. I remember the first part being tantalizingly erotic and second part average. So engrossed was I in poor Humbert Humbert's fantasies and seduction that, in a manner of speaking I had to repeatedly resort to the good old manuo-frictional means of extinguishing the fire of my loins. The second part, however, disappointed me and when I began my second fill of Lolita, I remembered nothing about the second part, save the scene where Humbert Humbert makes an advance at Dolores when she's studying and she says, "Oh not again."

Gentlemen and ladies of the jury, if you have had your fill of Lolita once without the benefit of the annotations, you can easily understand my plight when I decided to go through it again, especially when one is loath to have recourse to the all too conventional means of extinguishing the aforementioned fire. But my apprehensions, it turns out, came to naught.

The annotations, I must confess, are tremendously helpful. I did not recognize to what magnitude I missed the allusions, echoes, jokes, and delightful word plays our Hum engages in. It is staggering how much he is able to weave into the narrative. Frankly, I missed, without exaggeration, 100% of it. I was, as the diligent annotator notes in his recondite and illuminating 64-page introduction, Nabokov's ideal reader-puppet.

Not so, this time. Thanks to the annotations and two years of reading hard literature plus two years of French, I was able to see the cracks and holes in Lolita and enjoy it as an artistic artifice that it is. Strangely, I experienced no tumescence - not one bit - and enjoyed it on a totally different aesthetic level.

In short, although the prolix and detailed annotations may have taken away from the reading experience, I still enjoyed Lolita very much. There are slow parts, however, I had a hard time getting through. For example, the first 20 pages of Part Deux where H.H. and Dolly travel across les etats unis boasts more than enough expositions to drive you to the edge of despair and tantrum.

My favorite scenes are, in order: 1)the last scene with Humbert and Quilty; 2) the Enchanted Hunters hotel scene; and 3) the interviews with the Beardsley School headmistress. Like any work of literature, there are more than its fair share of slow parts whose necessity is in big question at least from the humble reader's perspective.

Insofar as the novel manages to both engage on the gut emotional level (especially the first time without the annotations) and intellectual, literary, and artistic level, Lolita remains, and will remain, one of my absolute favorites.

The four stars for the second level of reading. Overall, I give it 5 stars.

No matter. The notes range from translations to the anatomical to the complex textual. Appel is also happy to point out the Great Punster's supposedly unintended word play: he defends the phrase "Beaver Eaters" as "a portmanteau of 'Beefeaters' (the yeoman of the British royal guard) and their beaver hats."

I have been collecting cookbooks for more than 25 years and still really enjoy The Silver Palate series and anything by Jacques Pepin (of course). Time and time again, however, I find myself turning to my Fannie Farmer cookbook. From roasting charts and fancy dishes to comfort food basics and old-fashioned war-time cakes, Fannie Farmer has it all. It doesn't have any photographs but somehow that doesn't seem to matter in this case. The cookbook more than makes up for that with tons of recipes and lots of helpful information that goes far beyond the recipes. As for the recipes, unlike some other well-known chefs I've tried, Fannie Farmer recipes have always been delicious. The recipes are frequently annotated making it a good read, too. The pie crust recipe never fails to produce a perfectly golden, light and flaky crust that my husband says is better than my grandmother's. Highly recommended.

Writing 'bout fairies,
she can't be beat.

Book one was pure delight;
Book two is "out of sight."

Book three is a kid's dream,
Book four will make them beam.

But wait till you see what's in store;

Each of this author's books stands alone as far as story-line, and I discovered something new about fairies and fairy lore in each one. She's a fine writer, so good at her craft that the fairies came alive for me. Interesting story-lines, colorful characters in an exciting, entertaining format.

I have all of this series, including the few that were published by another publisher ... which are collector's items now. I could hardly wait until December 15th for this one and another one (the latest two) to be released. Then the 15th caught me unawares, so I'm a few days late posting this review.

Highly recommended.

The public is a versatile and Australian restaurant near the small NoLita. It was designed by the design firm AvroKo, which is known for its stylish decor and surroundings so, setting the mood over dinner in one of the rooms. Public is not just a restaurant, it also has a large bar andLounge area where you can sit at small tables or at the bar and enjoy great cocktails and an Australian beer.

The Monday Room is an annex to the audience that a great wine bar and lounge. The spot is next to the entrance of the Public left and you have access to a sommelier who will be recommended to prepare a flight of wines or is to come up with food and wine pairings from their menu. It's definitely a great place for a date to relax with friends.

Besidesis from the decor of the public, the exquisite, the food really stands. Everything from the appetizers, the main dishes, to desserts, all water in the mouth. The kangaroo, which you probably can not get in most restaurants could be the best thing on the menu.
